Piatra Craiului

Piatra Craiului is a mountain range located less than 40 km west of Brasov . It is considered one of the most beautiful in the entire Carpathians. This is one of the reasons why the Piatra Craiului National Park was established here. The highest peak of the range is La Om, which rises at 2238 m above sea level . Piatra Craiului, or loosely translated "Royal Rocks", owes its name to the impressive limestone rock formations that dominate the area.

The biggest attraction is going through the demanding trail on the main ridge of the range. However, the area also abounds in numerous gorges and over 150 caves .
