Matala
Autor, Brate
Matala is like a golden mean, although it is not located in the center of Crete , but on its southern coast. Not as commercialized as the resorts of the north, and at the same time not as unspoiled as the undiscovered towns of the south, it seems to suit the diverse tourist tastes perfectly. It is enough to be there in the high season to see how popular this small fishing village is. It attracts visitors with its unspoiled surroundings, a beautiful beach with hollow caves and nostalgia for the hippie culture that reigned in it in the 1960s and 1970s. The climate of those times had faded over the years. However, it comes alive once a year, on one of the weekends in June, during the Matala Beach Festival.
