The most common reason why we pack our suitcases on a trip to Greece are the beaches. The sand and gravel coast stretches for miles along the mainland and around the islands. In addition to crowded, popular and well-organized parts of it, you can find unspoiled corners, often only accessible from the sea. The paradise Laguna Balos and Elafonisi in Crete undoubtedly deserve the title of miss among Greek beaches. The Wreck Bay in Zakynthos and the beaches of Myrtos in Kefalonia , Porto Katsiki in Lefkada and Paleokastritsa in Corfu could compete with them. In the mainland of Greece, Sithonia is famous for its fabulous coast - the middle "finger" of the Chalkidiki peninsula.
