Crete

Crete is the largest Greek island. Big enough to make it a separate country. For tourist Greece, however, it would be an irreparable loss. Crete brings together what this country has to offer the best: beautiful, intimate beaches , valuable monuments and breathtaking masterpieces of nature. And all this in a quality that could be envied by many islands. This is where the second most-visited monument in Greece, the Palace of Knossos , is located after the Acropolis.

There is the longest gorge not only in Greece, but also in Europe - Samaria . There you can finally relax on one of the most beautiful Greek beaches - Balos . It is also impossible to forget about the lush nightlife that surprises many consummate partygoers.

On the charming Cretan beaches, apart from sunbathing, you can practice various types of water sports. The mountainous terrain of Crete also allows trekking and mountain climbing. If you like to spend time actively on vacation, you can be sure that you will not come back from the island without leaven. The queen of Greek islands remains attractive even after dark. In many resorts and large cities, parties are held until dawn. There will finally be something for those who run away from mass tourism in search of places off the beaten track.
