Rethymno

Rethymno (Rethymno) is the third largest city in Crete , located in the north of the island, between Chania and Heraklion . Its location makes it a privileged place. There is a large concentration of ravines and caves in the area, as well as a beautiful valley with the highest mountain peaks. And there are also real gems in the city itself. Its symbol is the mighty Fortress - the most outstanding, though one of many, traces of Venetian rule in Crete. Others can be found in the Old Town and along the picturesque harbor.
