Pamplona , a small town in the north-eastern part of Spain, is known for one event. It is there that Sanfermines takes place every year between 6 and 14 July. Under this name there is a fiesta, the most important element of which is a bull race . This controversial and bloody event attracts mainly Spaniards, but also tourists from all over the world. However, Pamplona is not only about bulls.

The city was eagerly visited by Ernest Hemingway , who liked the local old town, with its charming streets and atmospheric cafes. Pamplona is also an important point for pilgrims traveling the Camino Frances - one of the most popular routes to Santiago de Compostela .
