Formentera is an island in the Balearic Islands. Most tourists associate this archipelago only with Ibiza and Majorca . However, not only these two islands are remarkable. It is also worth visiting Formentera, which is the fourth largest island in the Balearic Islands . It is located right next to its more popular friend, Ibiza.

What makes Formentera different? First of all , the incredibly varied coastline . Thanks to this, you will find some really perfect beaches there, and the views will be beautiful . Its plus is also the fact that there are not a huge number of resorts there . But in high season it generates a small problem - it is difficult to find a free room in any hotel or guesthouse.

For whom?

Do you dream of golden beaches and turquoise waters of the sea ? Do you want to rest , get a perfect tan , and have thousands of photos on your phone like from travel agencies ? If so, you should consider a vacation to Formentera.

Balearic Islands

The other Balearic Islands are Ibiza , Majorca , Minorca and Cabrera . Check them all before you decide which one to go.

Recommended accomodations

Here are the accommodations that we can recommend with a clear conscience. We only recommend hotels that we have visited ourselves.

Hotel Bahia

During our rather spontaneous holiday in Formentera, we stayed in La Savina at Hotel Bahia. Why there? It is located next to the marina, where ferries from Ibiza arrive. It offered a relatively low price. Conditions were good - no great luxuries. But the truth is that in summer you only stay overnight in hotels and spend time on the beaches. Additionally, we had a beautiful view from the balcony.

Hotel Es Mares

I spent a week at Hotel Es Mares. Due to its location - in the central part of the island, I had a similar distance to all beaches. By car, the journey took 5 to 10 minutes. The hotel has a very designer decor. But he managed to maintain a homely atmosphere and I felt very comfortable there. There is also an outdoor swimming pool and a SPA (I did not use the latter).

Hostel Casbah

I can recommend Hostel Casbah. An exceptionally beautiful place, perfect for those who value bright, spacious interiors, lots of greenery and peace. The hotel will be a great choice if you are planning a romantic getaway just for two. The nearest beach is approximately 300 m away. There is also a swimming pool hidden among intensely scented pine trees.

Hotel Club Sunway Punta Prima

With my wife and children we went to the Club Sunway Punta Prima Hotel. It has a brilliant location - on a small peninsula. The views from the hotel and its surroundings are perfect. We liked the resort itself very much. Surrounded by a garden, it has an outdoor swimming pool and areas where children can play, e.g. play football. The apartment was neat but quite simply furnished. The meals were very tasty. Anyway, Mediterranean cuisine is very good.
