The town of Vrsac is located in the eastern part of Vojvodina, right on the border with Romania . It was first mentioned in the 15th century, but its history dates back to the Neolithic times.

Vrsac
Vrsac, Serbia - © Brate

Vrsac is known in Serbia for several reasons. First of all , the international railway line Vienna - Budapest - Belgrade - Bucharest runs through it. Secondly, the chess grandmaster Borislav Kostic came from there, in honor of whom an internationally renowned chess tournament is held in Vrsac. Third, this Serbian town is a famous wine center . Every year, on the third weekend of September, an event called "Grozdjebal" takes place there, during which you will be able to participate in numerous concerts, learn about different grapevines, and take part in wine tasting.

For whom?

Visit Vrsac if you want to try some good Serbian wine . It is also an excellent destination for enthusiasts of small-town atmosphere and a casual atmosphere . There are not many monuments in Vrsac, so if you are focused on sightseeing, then take a different direction.

Stari Mlin

In Vrsac I stayed overnight in the Stary Młyn guesthouse (Stari Mlin). First of all, there is a pretty good restaurant there. The rooms are located above it, so you have to take into account that the sounds coming from the room/kitchen will reach your ears. Apart from that, the price was low, the room itself was ok. I recommend it for one night.

Grand Sobe i Apartmani

If you are looking for an inexpensive, pleasant place to stay in Vrsac, then I can wholeheartedly recommend Grand Sobie and Apartmani. It is located a bit from the center, but you can walk there in 8 minutes. My family and I rented an apartment with a kitchen, because we had a small child and had to cook for him at home. We spent two trouble-free and comfortable nights there.

Hotel Srbija

Hotel Srbija is the largest hotel in Vrsac. It may not be the most beautiful place I have stayed in, but firstly, it was not expensive, and secondly, the room was elegant and clean. I also recommend the local breakfasts - you can really eat for half a day.

Apartments 135

Actually, I don't remember how we came across the Apartments 135 offer, but it was a hit, not a bull's eye. Great conditions for very reasonable money. In addition, there is a wonderful, although small, garden. But the greenery there is very well-kept and you can admire it from the windows of the apartment. You can feel at home there.
