Jicin
Autor, Brate
Jičín is a small but very picturesque town located in Northern Bohemia . It was founded in the 13th century and was gradually expanded over the years. For a certain period it was even the capital of a private state belonging to Albrecht von Wallenstein. It was he who wanted to create his own version of French Versailles here. To this day, a lot of historic buildings have been preserved here, including the 16th-century Valdicka Gate , the 17th-century church of St. Jakub the Greater or the early Baroque Wallenstein Palace.

It is also from Jiczyn that the main character of the fairy tale about the Highwayman Rumcajs comes from . Every year, in September, the Jicin Fairy Tale Festival is organized here on the historic square, which is an interesting attraction not only for children, but also for adults. Another advantage of the city is its location - in close proximity to the Bohemian Paradise , where there are many amazing castles, rock towns and other natural wonders.
