Bergen is often referred to as "the gateway to the land of the fjords". Literally behind seven mountains and between Norway's longest fjords, the Sognefjord and the Hardangerfjord, it is the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque south-west coast.

Bergen is also Norway's second largest city and the country's cultural capital. Some of the most interesting festivals in northern Europe take place here. Much more cozy than modern and austere Oslo will appeal to everyone who likes port cities with a rich history.

For whom?

Both sightseeing and active leisure fans will find something for themselves in Bergen. Two days is enough to get to know the city, but it is worth staying here a little longer and going on a few trekkings in the immediate vicinity. In the Bergen area, it is worth visiting Voss , the extreme sports festival and Trolltunga .
