Trolltunga
Autorka, Travelbay
Trolltunga is the most recognizable place in all of Norway. The famous "Troll's Tongue" is a characteristic rock that can actually resemble a tongue from a distance. It rises at an altitude of 1,100 m above sea level, above the surface of the Ringedalsvatnet lake, located 700 m below. Due to the fact that Trolltunga probably adorns every website and every advertising folder promoting Norway, they attract crowds there. However, it should be remembered that reaching the rock takes time and trekking skills. A trip to the Troll's Tongue takes practically the whole day.

You can get to Trolltunga by car. You can leave them in one of the three car parks: P1 in Tyssedal, P2 in Skjeggedal or P3 in Mågelitopp. The last of the seats is available for smaller cars and people who are not afraid to climb steep, narrow climbs. Depending on which parking lot you will stop at, you will either have a longer (almost 30 km) or shorter (approx. 20 km) hike. It's worth it, because the views that Trolltunga offers in good weather are breathtaking. If you stay in the area for longer, visit Tyssedal, home to the Norwegian Museum of Hydropower. Also noteworthy is the Buarbreen , a small glacier 6 km from the town of Odda, and the Latefossen waterfall measuring approx. 95 m.
Who is Trolltunga for?
A trip to Trolltunga is a must-see for any hiking fan in Norway. Both the route to Troll's Tongue and the views from it are well worth the trouble.
