Neptune's Grotto
Autor, Brate
Sardinia has many great attractions. Among them, one of the biggest gems is the Grotto of Neptune (Grotte di Nettuno). It is located in the northwest of the island, within a small peninsula protected under the Parco Naturale Regionale di Porto Conte .

Neptune's Grotto, Italy
It was discovered by accident by local fishermen in the 18th century. But it took a long time for the cave to be made available to tourists. It happened in the middle of the 20th century, when the stairs leading to its interior were built. Since then, the grotto has become immensely popular with visitors to Sardinia. What attracts tourists there? Magnificent karst formations that decorate its interior and a salt lake in which the rocks are beautifully reflected. The only drawback of Neptune's Grotto is the fact that it is visited by crowds of tourists during the season.
For whom?
It cannot be denied that fans of the wonders of nature will like Neptune's Grotto. Not only is it spectacular in itself, it is also located at the foot of an impressive cliff. The surrounding area also delights with landscapes. You will appreciate Neptune's Grotto also when you are not afraid of crowds . Every hour, up to 150-200 people enter it!
