Zagreb , the Croatian capital, is usually overlooked by tourists. And all because it is in the hinterland, not on the coast. However, is it worth spending your precious time exploring this city? Yes of course. Zagreb has a large number of monuments, museums and attractions for people of almost all ages . From monumental churches to surprising exhibitions or beautiful green areas.

Zagreb, Croatia

Zagreb, Croatia - © Brate

The Croatian capital is teeming with life all year round . Numerous festivals and other artistic events take place here. Restaurants, pubs and clubs offer a lot of fun, but without fear that the next day you will be left with an absolutely empty wallet. And most importantly - although Zagreb is a large city, it does not overwhelm, and even encourages you to explore it.

For whom?

If you like sightseeing , you will love Zagreb. You are sure to see a lot in one day. But in fact, only 2-3 days will give you the feeling that you have visited most of the most important attractions. Because not only Zagreb itself is interesting, but also its close surroundings, such as the Medvednica range with its castle. A city worth visiting on the route from Vienna or Budapest to the beaches of Croatia .

Subscape Hostel

One of the more amazing places I've stayed in. Capsule hostel in the very center of Zagreb. It may not be the cheapest, but in my opinion it's worth paying extra for a slightly cosmic experience. Super modern, neat and close to everything!

Aparthotel Snjezna Kraljica

If you are looking for accommodation close to Zagreb, but also close to nature, Aparthotel Snjezna Kraljica will be an excellent option for you. It is located in the Medvednica massif, among greenery. Peace and quiet, pleasant walking areas. Zagreb is about a 30-minute drive away. Large apartments, tasty breakfasts, good place for families with children.

Boutique Hostel Kings n' Queens

While looking for accommodation in the center of Zagreb, I came across the offer of the boutique Kings n' Queens hostel. Excellent value for money. In addition, a tasty and plentiful breakfast is included in the cost of your stay. A good place for both couples and single travelers (there are single rooms).

Guesthouse BED 4 YOU

A guesthouse in the heart of Zagreb? Exactly! The Bed 4 You guesthouse is the perfect place if you are looking for an intimate and cozy place, but at the same time you want to be close to the most important attractions of the city. The tenement house it is in doesn't look great, but the rooms inside are nice and tidy. Price – very low. Comfort – high.
