The largest ski resort of Bosnia and Herzegovina is Jahorina. It is located 27 km east of Sarajevo and 13 km above the city of Pale. It was on Jahorin during the 1984 Winter Olympics that women's ski competitions were held . However, as a winter sports center, it began to develop much earlier. Apparently, the first skiers appeared in this area as early as 1923, while the first ski lift was built in 1952.

Currently, Jahorina is constantly evolving. Recently, it has finally invested in a snowmaking system. There is also a plan to connect Jahorina with the nearby Ravna Planina ski area via a gondola lift. In summer, this corner of Bosnia and Herzegovina tempts hikers and cyclists with numerous scenic routes.
For whom?
Jahorina will appeal primarily to those who like to spend time actively. In winter, well-prepared ski slopes await them, as well as the possibility of riding snowmobiles or organizing ski-tour trips. In summer, Jahorina is perfect for light trekking as well as cycling tours. On the other side of Sarajevo you will find another ski resort - Bjelasnica .
