The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is referred to as the city of many cultures or the meeting point of East and West. It is an extremely diverse city with traces of the Ottoman Empire and Austro-Hungary. It was here that on June 28, 1914, the assassination attempt on Prince Ferdinand took place , which started the First World War.

More recently, in the 1990s, Sarajevo became a symbol of the civil war that was going on at that time. During its course, the city was besieged and practically cut off from the world for 1,425 days . Every day, snipers shelled the districts of Sarajevo, eventually killing around 10,000. people, of which 1.5 thous. he was children. And although a lot of time has passed since these events, in the city you can still see traces of the shelling that lasted several years. Of course, Sarajevo does not forget about its past and is again trying to be an open and multicultural city. Hostel Franz Ferdinand
Chyba każdy, kto był w Sarajewie słyszał o hostelu Franz Ferdinand. Jest to miejsce, w którym choć raz po prostu trzeba przenocować. Przede wszystkim znajduje się w ścisłym centrum miasta. Z pobytu najbardziej zapamiętałem historyczne zdjęcia zdobiące ściany tego dość nowoczesnego w designie hostelu. Dużym plusem jest też obsługa, która pomogła mi w zaplanowaniu moich trzech dni w mieście.
Hostel Pigeon Square
Jeśli chcecie przenocować w ścisłym sercu miasta, bo praktycznie na samej Baščaršiji, to wybierzcie Hostel Pigeon Square. Znajduje się tuż przy placu, na którym stoi fontanna Sebilj. Blisko jest stąd zarówno do zabytków Sarajewa, jak i pubów, klubów czy restauracji. Wnętrze jest przytulne i schludne. Dla mnie największym plusem byli pracownicy hostelu, którzy niemalże stawali na głowie, by mój pobyt był tam udany.
Hostel Kucha
Podczas noclegu w Hostelu Kucha poczułem się, jak w domu. Jest to wyjątkowo przytulny hostel, położony powyżej centrum. Stąd oferuje naprawdę ładny widok na miasto. Istotne było dla mnie to, że mogłem zaparkować auto za darmo tuż przy nim. Hostele w centrum nie dają takiej możliwości, bo za zostawienie samochodu trzeba tam słono zapłacić.
Pino Nature
Jeśli podobnie jak ja wolicie nocleg bliżej natury, to na pewno spodoba Wam się hotel Pino Nature. Znajduje się na stoku góry Trebević, powyżej górnej stacji kolei gondolowej. Położony jest obok głównej szosy R446, w otoczeniu lasu. W ciągu dnia, działająca tam restauracja bywa dość zatłoczona, ale wieczorami panuje błogi spokój. Hotel nie tylko z zewnątrz, ale również od środka jest niesamowicie designerski. Goście mają do dyspozycji basen.
