Durres

The port of Durres does not make a good impression at first glance. It is largely built-up with smaller or larger hotels that stretch along the coast. The center, slightly distant from the sea, also does not impress with its beauty. However, Durres is a city with a rich past , as you can see when visiting the ruins of the amphitheater or the Archaeological Museum. However, it cannot be denied that in high season it is a bustling resort with a lot going on.

For whom?
Most of the visitors to Durres are clients of travel agencies who stay there in hotels or Tirana residents who can get there in 40 minutes from the capital. Hence, in the high season (July-August) it is one of the most crowded points on the Albanian coast map. Outside of this time, things get calmer in Durres. However, it should be taken into account that some bars and restaurants will not be open then. Certainly Durres is a place for those who like comfort , proximity to the beach, all inclusive hotels, but also the possibility of not too exhausting sightseeing.

Hotel Kristal
Do hotelu trafiłem trochę przez przypadek, szukając na szybko noclegu w Durres. Kristal położony jest tuż przy promenadzie. Z okien miałem więc widok na morze i port. Generalnie standard naprawdę w porządku – spory pokój, schludna łazienka, balkon. Hotel znajduje się w niedużej odległości od Muzeum Archeologicznego czy Amfiteatru. Do najbliższej plaży trzeba iść jakieś 10-15 min. Dobre miejsce dla kogoś, kto chce trochę pozwiedzać i mieć inne udogodnienia (takie jak restauracje, bary, kawiarnie i sklepy) pod ręką. Dodatkowo ceny są naprawdę przystępne.
Tropikal Resort
Tropikal Resort wybrałem z kilku względów. Przede wszystkim oferuje dostęp do ładnego fragmentu plaży. Na miejscu do dyspozycji gości jest też zewnętrzny basen. Pokoje są schludnie urządzone i pozwalają odpocząć po całym dniu zwiedzania, pływania i plażowania. Jest też opcja wynajęcia bungalowów, ale ich standard jest nieco niższy niż w samym hotelu.
Hostel Durres
Choć Hostel Durres nie jest blisko morza, to uważam pobyt w nim za bardzo udany. Zlokalizowany jest w centrum miasta i oferuje zarówno dormitoria, jak i pokoje dwuosobowe. Znajduje się tam też bar oraz ładny ogród. Praktycznie o każdej porze dnia i nocy można liczyć na pomoc hostelowej ekipy, która dba też o dobrą atmosferę tego miejsca.
