Encarnacion
Autor, Travelbay
In the southeastern part of Paraguay lies Encarnacion , which was known as Itapúa. It was founded on the banks of Parana, close to the border with Argentina. In the immediate vicinity of the city you will find the ruins of the Jesuit mission (Reducciones Jesuítica Guaraníes de Jesús de Tavarangue) designed by the Italian architect Juan Bautista Primoli. Although there is not much left of the buildings, they are exceptionally picturesque and are undoubtedly the greatest attraction of the area.

Anyway, they were appreciated by UNESCO , which took them under its protectorate. Also, be sure to check out the city's main square, Plaza de Armas . It is also a good idea to walk along the waterfront and relax on San José Beach. Encarnacion also has a good hotel and gastronomic base. So plan a meal in one of the restaurants there to try the local cuisine.
For whom?
Drop by the Encarnacion if you want to do some sightseeing, take a little walk and generally relax. The city is not only picturesquely situated, but also very attractive. It is also a good direction when you want to get to know Paraguayan cuisine a little better.
