Brecon Beacons

The Brecon Beacons National Park is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful parts of Great Britain in terms of landscapes. This is where picturesque mountains, amazing waterfalls and charming little towns await you. Due to the fact that it covers an area of 900 km² , you do not need to worry about the company of crowds. Despite the fact that there are two big cities in the vicinity: Cardiff and Newport.

Brecon Beacons National Park holds the title of the International Dark Sky Reserve . Due to the fact that there are no large agglomerations in its area, you can admire the undisturbed (unless clouds come), starry sky. Brecon Beacons is also a rich history. Within its borders there are 250 archaeological sites , including stone circles or settlements. Of course, the national park also offers countless hiking and biking trails as well as climbing routes. Many tourists also choose horseback riding.

Who is Brecon Beacons for?

Go to the Brecon Beacons if you love spending time in nature . Here you will find great areas for active recreation , including trekking, cycling (also the more severe one), climbing, canoeing, canyoning, and skiing in winter.

Melin Tregib

Melin Tregib offers clean and atmospheric rooms in a beautiful location. The continental breakfast was delicious. There are croissants, fruit, cereals and scrambled eggs every day, and sometimes there are some extras. We felt almost at home there.

Foyles of Glasbury

The Foyles of Glasbury is beautifully situated and has a bar and restaurant for guests to enjoy. The room was comfortable and finished to a very high standard. The only minor thing was the squeaky floor in the bedroom, but we appreciate it's a period building.

The Shed

The Shed is a great place for comfort and location. Everything we needed was available: coffee, tea and breakfast, as well as fluffy towels and toiletries. A good base for the mountains.

The Cawdor

The staff was very nice and it was possible to check in later in the evening without any problems. It would be better if the lunch menu was more varied and updated on an ongoing basis. For example, at 7 p.m. some menu items were no longer available. Either way, we recommend it.

The Manor Hotel

We really liked The Manor Hotel. We would like to thank the owners for such a pleasant stay. The food was good, the drinks available were great too. The hotel itself is very nice. We got a bigger room which was really lovely.
