Kizhi Island is one of the most visited places in Northern Russia. All thanks to the beautiful Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration , which was built without the use of a single nail (all for saliva). Apart from it, there are many monuments on the island (another two Orthodox churches, a wooden Dutch-style windmill). [caption id = "attachment_86395" align = "alignleft" width = "500"]

The largest lake is Ladoga, which is located nearby (it is worth taking a look at the island of Valaam there ). Most tours arrive at Kizhi Island for approximately 4 hours. That's enough time to do everything calmly. And although you can take a guide on site, I do not recommend it because everything is written exactly in English.
