Sucevita (Sucevita) is a small town in the Romanian region of Bukovina. Its main attraction is the fortified monastery, the heart of which is the painted Church of the Resurrection. It was established in the second half of the 16th century. In the following years, the monastery was expanded and surrounded by powerful walls with corner towers.

The church was decorated with beautiful, external frescoes , which have been preserved in very good condition to this day. It is one of the seven so-called Painted churches in Bukovina, which have been entered together on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List . Historical paintings cover almost all the interior and exterior walls of the temple. They mainly depict scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The monastery buildings also house a museum with numerous books, liturgical items, and icons dating back to the 16th century.
