Despite the long history of Hungarian rule, the city was incorporated into Romania after World War II. However, strong Hungarian influence is still visible here. One of the most important monuments of Oradea is the 18th-century basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary , which is the largest baroque cathedral in the country. From here, you can walk to the very center of the city along the Strada Republici street, along which there are many richly decorated, historic buildings. As a result, it is considered one of the most beautiful streets in Transylvania. It is also worth seeing the 20th-century palaces of Apollo and Moskowitz Miks, as well as the monumental building of the town hall.
