Medias
Autorka, Travelbay
The small town of Medias used to be one of the most important centers of Transylvania. Already in ancient times, there was a Roman fortified camp here. In the 15th century, the sprawling city was surrounded by massive defensive walls. An important accent for Polish history is the pact on royal obligations signed here by Stefan Batory in 1576.

Medias, Romania
Also here was the Saxon National Assembly in 1919, during which it was decided to merge Transylvania with Romania. Many historical buildings have survived to the present day. The heart of the city is Margareta Castle . St. Margaret from the fourteenth century, rises on a hill and has been fortified with high walls and towers. There is also the Trumpeters Tower , which is 68.5 meters high. The city center is filled with old tenement houses, and other important monuments are the Blacksmith's Tower or the remains of the old city walls with observation towers.
