Iasi

Iasi is the third largest city in Romania, located in the east of the country, close to the border with Moldova . The excavations carried out here allowed to estimate that the first settlement was established here in the 7th century. However, thanks to its location at the intersection of important trade routes, the city was able to develop rapidly. In 1565, it was proclaimed the capital of the Moldavian Farm and kept this title until 1862.

Currently, Iasi is an important cultural and scientific center. The most important building, and at the same time the symbol of the city, is the magnificent, neo-Gothic Palace of Culture . It houses four different museums : History of Moldova, Ethnography, Arts and Science and Technology. Another place worth visiting is the Orthodox Church of the Three Hierarchs, which is considered the most original religious building in Europe. There is also a museum inside. It is also worth seeing the church of St. Nicholas, the Golia Monastery, the Opera House and the National Theater. The city is rarely visited by tourists, but it is definitely worth getting to know it better, because it hides a lot of interesting monuments.
For whom?
Do you like places off the main tourist routes ? Then Iasi will be the perfect proposition for you. It is also a good direction for people who want to explore history. It is enough for them to visit numerous museums operating in the city. Moldovan fans will also like it here. Because although the city is located within Romania, the Moldovan atmosphere is still felt here.
