Corvin Castle is located in Hunedoara and is known as one of the largest medieval strongholds in Europe . The first fortress in this place was built at the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries. In the 15th century, incl. At the request of Maciej Corvinus, the then king of Hungary, the structure was expanded and transformed into a Renaissance chateau. Over the next centuries, many important meetings and events important for the entire region took place here.

In 1854, a large part of the castle was destroyed by fire, but as a result of restoration works it regained its former glory and today is one of the most popular attractions of Romania . The fortress is surrounded by imposing walls with defensive towers. The road to the interior leads through a wooden bridge over the Zlasti River and a new gatehouse. Once in the courtyard, you will see Bethlen's Palace and the Administrative Palace, which today house museum exhibitions . Inside the fortress you can also see, among others the richly decorated Knight's and King's Hall, and the Council's Hall, where the councils of the Parliament of Transylvania were held. The impressive castle with a long and rich history will appeal to everyone, regardless of age or tourist preferences.
