Until recently, Tivat did not stand out in any particular way . Despite its location on the seashore and not far from Kotor , it did not have much to offer to tourists. And if there were any of them, it was only those who used the services of the international airport operating there.

Tivat, Montenegro - © Brate

However, everything changed with the creation of Porto Montenegro, which is one of the most modern and exclusive marinas in Europe . Thanks to it, Tivat flourished and is now one of the most dynamically developing towns on the Montenegrin coast. The marina is very impressive, and the mega yachts arriving there arouse admiration even among people who are not interested in sailing.

For whom?

Tivat is the perfect place for a stopover on the road . If you plan to pass it, be sure to stop there for a few hours. A short walk through the historic part of the city combined with a visit to Porto Montenegro will be a really interesting experience. If, however, you are considering yachting in the Balkans, then be sure to visit Tivat as one of the most important points during the cruise.

Kotor Bay

In the area of the Bay of Kotor, it is worth visiting Perast , Kotor , Lovcen , Herceg Novi , and Tivat.

Boutique Hotel La Roche

For our wedding anniversary, I decided to take my wife to one of the best hotels in Montenegro, i.e. Hotel La Roche located in Tivat. The prices there are crazy, but it's a perfect place for a getaway for two. Exclusive, beautifully decorated interiors. A beautiful view from the window of the private beach and the sea. The highest standard of services. It was perfect.

Tivat Star

I spent two nights at the Tivat Star Hotel. It is the perfect compromise between sunbathing and sightseeing. Because it is located right next to the beach and the city center is also close. Good conditions, price not too high, and a nice view from the window.

Regent Porto Montenegro

I had the opportunity to stay overnight at the Regent Hotel in Porto Montenegro. I must admit that it was quite an interesting experience, as I have never used such a luxurious complex. Everything there was perfect and refined in every detail. The conditions in the room were better than in my own home. The view of the marina – first-rate. Meals – excellent. Pool – great.

Hostel Anton

Anton Hostel is one of the cheapest accommodation options in Tivat. I spent one night there during my spring tour of Montenegro. Conditions were good, although it could have been a bit cleaner. Breakfast included. There is a very international team working there, which makes the atmosphere in the hostel really nice. It's about a 15-minute walk to the sea.
