The Lovcen Mountains rise east of Boka Kotorska . They offer excellent views of the bay, but not only that. From the most frequently visited peak of the mountain range, i.e. Jezerski Vrhu , you can see almost all of Montenegro. On its top rises the Mausoleum of Peter II Petrović-Niegosz , who was a bishop and ruler of Montenegro , adored by his subjects.

An undoubted advantage of the Lovcen Mountains is the fact that you can get there by car. The P1 road, connecting Kotor with Cetynia , runs through them. The road leading to Jezerski Vrh diverges from it. So even if you do not like tedious hiking in the mountains, you will be able to effortlessly enter their heart to admire the beautiful scenery.

For whom?

The Lovcen Mountains are an ideal place for all enthusiasts of beautiful views , including the mountains and the sea. In the area of the mountain range you will find many points from which you will be able to admire the stunning Montenegrin landscapes. Lovcen is also an excellent destination for active people . You will find quite a lot of hiking trails there. But remember that it can get really hot in the summer.

Kotor Bay

In the area of the Bay of Kotor, it is worth visiting Perast , Kotor , Lovcen, Herceg Novi , and Tivat .

Hotel Monte Rosa

On the recommendation of my friends, I decided to stay at the Monte Rosa Hotel in Ivanova Korita. This is an ideal proposition for active people. There are plenty of hiking and walking trails in the area. Beautiful views, because the Lovcen Mountains are very picturesque. Hotel conditions are good. You can use the internal swimming pool, which was a godsend after a whole day of trekking.

Hotel Ivanov Konak

If you want to stay overnight in the heart of the Lovcen Mountains, I recommend choosing Hotel Ivanov Konak. It is located at an altitude of 1,500 m above sea level. Thanks to this, you will get some relief from the summer heat. From there you can go trekking to higher parts of the mountains. The hotel is not very luxurious, but for the price some small imperfections can be forgiven.

Turo Njegusi

My wife and I had the opportunity to spend the night in the heart of the Lovcen National Park, in the town of Njegusi. We went to the Turo Njegusi guesthouse. A very nice place with a homely atmosphere. Views – first class. A very nice owner who treated us like long lost friends.

BNB Njeguska Sijela

The heart of the Lovcen Mountains is the village of Njegusi. There is a guest house called BNB Njeguska Sijela. Initially, I was supposed to spend one night there, but I extended my stay by another two. I was delighted with the views, the atmosphere there and the possibility of hiking in the mountains. The room was neat and simply decorated. The breakfasts were traditional, plentiful and delicious.
