The Ostrog Monastery is one of the reasons to visit the interior of Montenegro . The monastery, glued to the rocky slope, impresses not only with its location, but also with interesting architecture. You can see it while driving the M18 road connecting Podgorica with Niksic. However, it is also worth taking a closer look at it.

Ostrog, Montenegro

A narrow, winding road leads to the Lower Ostrog , from where you can reach Upper Ostrog either by car or on foot. The white facade of the monastery stands out against the brown rocks. It is not only a popular destination among Orthodox pilgrims . Ostrog is appreciated by tourists who, in addition to searching for the sacred, want to soak up the beautiful views stretching from there .

For whom?

If you appreciate beautiful landscapes , you will love Ostrog. You don't have to be a believer to feel and appreciate the unique aura of this place. Additionally, if you like to photograph , you will find a lot of photo inspiration there.

Aparthotel Koliba

I didn't plan to spend the night near the Ostrog Monastery. But when I stopped for dinner at Aparthotel Koliba, I decided to stay there for the night. And it was a good choice. The hotel is located about 15 minutes by car from Ostrog. From the terrace you can admire the view of the mountains and the monastery. Conditions – very good. Breakfasts – tasty. Price – low.

Ostroške grede

I had the opportunity to spend one night in the Ostroške grede guesthouse. It is located on the road leading to the Ostrog monastery. I actually didn't expect much from it. And that's probably why he surprised me so positively. First of all, it offers a breathtaking view. The owners create a truly homely atmosphere there, and the meals they serve are pure heaven!

Hotel Sokoline

Hotel Skoline is a truly magical place. I planned to spend one night there, but ended up spending two. It is located in the same massif as the Ostrog monastery, but slightly to the side from it. Due to the fact that it is located quite high, it allows you to admire a vast panorama of the area. There was absolutely nothing there that I could fault. The room was clean, the service was nice, and the parking lot was large.

Cozy Bungalow

Cozy Bungalow is located on the road leading to the monastery. These are quite simple, wooden, fully furnished houses. I didn't need any great luxuries for one night. You can buy local delicacies on site, including delicious honey!
