Vesuvius

The Ear (1281 m above sea level) is one of those volcanoes that are probably taught most often in schools. It was he who in 79 led to the destruction of Pompeii , burning and covering the city with a thick layer of ash, and burying about 2,000 people alive. And although a long time has passed since those events, geologists agree that a similar tragedy may repeat itself. Especially that Vesuvius is still an active volcano.

You can get to its top by a not very demanding trail that allows you to enjoy the beautiful views of the Bay of Naples and the interior of the country.
