Vesuvius
Autor, Brate
The Ear (1281 m above sea level) is one of those volcanoes that are probably taught most often in schools. It was he who in 79 led to the destruction of Pompeii , burning and covering the city with a thick layer of ash, and burying about 2,000 people alive. And although a long time has passed since those events, geologists agree that a similar tragedy may repeat itself. Especially that Vesuvius is still an active volcano.

So far, however, he seems to be harmless. And for this reason, it is a popular excursion destination . You can get to its top by a not very demanding trail that allows you to enjoy the beautiful views of the Bay of Naples and the interior of the country. It is also worth adding that this volcano has been protected under the national park - Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio .
