Bomarzo

Why are the Bomarzo monsters not dressed. Because they're freezing! Parco dei Mostri was built in 1552 and its aim was to shock the visitor. All thanks to the mad Prince Vicino . After many wars and experiences, he decided to build a Garden of Miracles. He hired a guy to finish the construction of St. Peter in Rome (after Michael Angela) and set to work.

The result is a garden dotted with stone carvings with truly spooky silhouettes. The most interesting of these is Hell's Mouth , which you can enter. So what to expect in Bomarzo? Probably no tourist would ever reach it, if not for the Monster Park located on its outskirts. It is a one-of-a-kind garden, dotted with huge sculptures carved into the rock. Although it was created less than 5 centuries ago, it still frightens, surprises and delights.
