Debrecen

Although Debrecen is not the most beautiful Hungarian city, you should still consider at least a short visit to it. First of all, it is located in the eastern part of the country, right next to the Hortobagy National Park. So it can be a good starting point for trips through the puszta forest. Debrecen also has a nice old town .

However, the biggest attraction of the city is the Nagyerdő forest park . Within it there are, among others Aquaticum , a Mediterranean-style aquapark. You will be able to swim in pools with thermal water, slide on slides or relax in the SPA zone. The forest park itself offers beautiful walking areas. Debrecen, although at first glance a quiet city, also offers a large number of great restaurants and pubs . There you will taste typical Hungarian dishes, but most of all delicious local wine.

For whom?

Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary. But that doesn't mean it's as crowded as Budapest . On the contrary! Therefore, if you are looking for an intimate, interesting and pleasant city to explore, Debrecen will be a good choice. Additionally, you will be able to relax there - either in the aquapark or while walking along forest paths.
