Chios
Autor, Brate
Few have heard of Chios. You can forgive them because it is neither the most beautiful nor the most interesting of the Greek islands. It lacks a typically Greek character. Perhaps because it is closer to Turkey in terms of territory?

Chios, Greece
However, this Aegean island hides a few gems worth visiting: a mysterious mastic, an impressive UNESCO World Heritage-listed monastery , several lovely beaches and stunning medieval villages. Homer was to be born on Chios (as in seven other places;). No hard evidence has been found for this, but the name of a Greek singer could be a pretty good marketing gimmick.
For whom?
Chios will interest those who want to learn the secrets of the mastic, follow in the footsteps of Homer and discover unique monuments. There will be plenty of places to visit, although you will not expect white temples, charming houses with blue roofs and impressive ancient ruins, typical of many other Greek islands. Chios is also waiting for sunbathers. Among the dozens of beaches, you will certainly find a charming spot for sunbathing and practicing water sports. Consider this direction if you are looking for places off the beaten track for your holiday trip.
