Düsseldorf is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia and one of the largest cities in Germany. Famous for its gothic church with a twisted tower, copper-colored malt beer and a modern, harbor business district. Far less crowded than historic Cologne , less than an hour away, attracts younger and more alternative companions.

Düsseldorf is perfect for a weekend getaway . It is a perfect mix of interesting architecture, compact museums (which do not have long lines) and lively pubs that close only at dawn.
For whom?
Düsseldorf will appeal to everyone who enjoys exploring unusual, contemporary cities, diverse architecture and rich nightlife.

Backpackers Düsseldorf
A typical hostel about 15 minutes' walk from the old town. Perfect if you're planning a night out. There are many pizzerias and places to grab a bite nearby. You can use the kitchen. Unfortunately, quite poor breakfasts.

a&o Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof
A recommendable chain near the railway station. Classic rooms, without much comfort, but perfect for a weekend. No problem with late check-in.
