Beaune is beautifully situated on the Great Vineyards of Burgundy (La Route des Grands Crus), which is at the forefront of red wine production. Many of the wineries there are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city itself deserved the title of Burgundian wine-making capital. Surrounded by defensive walls, it is like a secret that needs to be revealed. This is because there are extraordinary places behind it: Renaissance mansions, churches, parks, museums.
