Korcula is one of the most popular Dalmatian islands. It is located right next to the Pelješac Peninsula (from which ferries go to it), and its close neighbors include Hvar and Mljet . The most important and famous city of the island is Korcula , famous for its beautiful old town and the fact that Marco Polo was probably born there. However, while in this corner of Croatia, it is also worth going to the town of Vela Luka, where you can see the beautiful cave of Vela Spila . Korcula as an island also offers a large number of beautiful beaches, as well as numerous bicycle and trekking routes.

For whom?

Korčula is a fairly universal island . You will like it here both if you like sightseeing, relaxing on the beaches or spending time actively . If you are looking for places less crowded by tourists, consider visiting the central part of the island or its western tip. Most of the tourist traffic is concentrated around the town of Korcula.

Apartments Villa Julija

I decided to stay overnight in Lumbarda, in the Villa Julija apartments, due to the proximity of the beaches. It's quite crowded here during the season, but it's manageable. The conditions in the guesthouse itself are great. There is a swimming pool and a garden at guests' disposal. In my opinion, this is a good option if you are traveling as a couple.

Hotel Korkyra

Hotel Korkyra is one of the best hotels I have stayed in in Croatia. It is located in Vela Luka. It is located in the center of the town, near the ferry port. Despite everything, it's very peaceful there. There is a large swimming pool at guests' disposal, and the apartments are spacious and nicely furnished. Delicious meals! Literally three steps to nice beaches. An ideal place for a family holiday.

Tara's Lodge Hotel

The hotel is located west of Korcula town. I was able to walk to the old town of Korcula in about 40 minutes. The hotel has access to a private, beautiful beach and a swimming pool. Great atmosphere, nice views, rather for couples than for families with children.

Hostel Caenazzo

Caenazzo Hostel is located in the heart of Korcula's old town. Good for one night if you just want to feel the atmosphere of this city. Rather for not very demanding backpackers, with a low budget. Conditions are very basic, but at this price it's not surprising. For me, a small minus was the lack of a kitchen. However, there are plenty of restaurants and bars around, so it wasn't a big problem.

Aminess Lume Hotel

Hotel right on the seafront in the quiet, small town of Brna. I wanted to find accommodation in a place where there would be no crowds. Additionally, there are a lot of bicycle trails in the area, and my wife and I focused mainly on exploring the island by bike. Great room, sea view, swimming pool available. A great place for an active and romantic holiday.
