Syri Kalter literally means (blue eye or blue eye). The place takes its name from the picturesque blue color of the water . In the central part, the water reservoirs are darker in color, to be brighter at the edges. Seen from above, it resembles the human eye. The easiest way to get to Syri Kalter is from Saranda or by bus). Blue Eye in Albania was once the private property of the country's leader, Hoxha . He invited his compatriots here to admire the wonderful color of the water. Nobody was bathing, although it's possible. Why? Because the water is 10 degrees. Pizga like on the Titanic.
