Los Llanos

Los Lanos , or more specifically Llanos Venezolanos, covers a huge area of central Venezuela. It is nothing but a depression that covers 26.6% of the mainland of the country . Los Lanos is also a floodplain for the mighty Orinoco River. Here you can find meadows and marshes. And although the monotony of the landscape may deter some people, it is still worth a look.

The reason is the wonderful nature and… emptiness. Los Lanos is home to capybara, anacondas, ibis and many different colored parrot species. Of course, many animals graze here. There are definitely more of them here than people. Los Lanos is also a specific center of cowboy culture.
