The city of Salto is located on the left bank of the Uruguay River, right on the border with Argentina . It is an important point on the Uruguayan map for several reasons. First of all , it is the second largest urban center in the country . Secondly, there is a river port here , thanks to which Salto was able to develop. The city is famous for wine production and numerous orange and mandarin groves.

These fruits are used to produce, among others, delicious juices, which you must try when visiting Salto. Among the attractions, the Museum of Man and Technology (Museo del Hombre y la Tecnología) or the Uruguay River Museum, which is located ideally on its shores , deserves attention . The advantage of Salto is undoubtedly the fact that the whole area is incredibly picturesque, and the stay in the city can be combined with relaxation at Lake Salto Grando.

Salto may not be the most amazing city in South America, but it certainly deserves attention. In particular, it lies on the majestic and beautiful Uruguay River.
