But Punta del Este is not only about parties. These are, first of all , wonderful beaches that stretch both along the peninsula and a little further from it. The eastern shoreline, called Brava , is really windy, while the western Mansa offers a bit more secluded conditions. One of the symbols of the city is the statue of Mano de Punta del Este . These are the five fingers emerging from the sands of Bravo Beach. The sculpture was designed in 1982 by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal. Make sure to take a picture with her!
