Punta del Diablo is a small town on the eastern coast of Uruguay, which for many years was a quiet, fishing village. When its tourist potential was noticed, it turned into a resort, which, however, did not forget about its old traditions. What is the greatest advantage of Punta del Diablo?

Wonderful long sandy beaches that attract both Uruguayans and foreign visitors. The town is appreciated by surfers . The ocean offers great surf here. And where did the "devil's name" of the resort come from? Well, many ships have crashed in this area. Hence, the locals believed that this place was cursed and dangerous in its own way. Currently, you will have a different impression, because the idyllic atmosphere is conducive to relaxation. To the south of the city there is a national park - Parque Nacional de Santa Teresa , where you can admire 2 million exotic and local trees. It is a perfect place for a walk, but also for sunbathing, because within the park you can find really beautiful beaches.

For whom?

If during your stay in Uruguay you feel like sunbathing , then consider relaxing in Punta del Diablo. What's more, it will be a good starting point for a visit to Cabo Polonio or the Parque Nacional de Santa Teresa.

Remanso del Diablo

I had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Remanso del Diablo hotel. This property is located directly on the beach. After leaving the building, you immediately find yourself lying on the sand. I had a wonderful view of the ocean from the room. Peace and quiet - perfect conditions for relaxation. It is expensive (for Uruguay), but the price included a large breakfast.

Brisas del Rivero

My friends and I rented an apartment in Brisas del Rivero. It absolutely met our expectations. It was pleasantly decorated and equipped with all the necessary equipment (kitchen, grill, etc.). A few steps to the beach.

La Virazón

La Virazon guesthouse is a great option if someone wants to feel like a local. The family that runs this facility cares for its guests as if they were close relatives. There are no known luxuries, but it was very, very cozy. In addition, delicious breakfasts allow you to get acquainted with local delicacies.

Unique Hotel & Suites

In my opinion this is the best place to stay in Punta del Diablo. The hotel has a really high standard, is located close to the beach and has an outdoor swimming pool. It is modern, comfortable and world-class. The price is amazing, it includes a good breakfast and the service is impeccable.
Posada de la Viuda

Posada de la Viuda

Posada de la Viuda is such a little paradise. The guesthouse impresses with its well-kept, beautiful garden with a swimming pool, but also with the architecture of the building. The atmosphere here enchanted me. And that's why I extended my stay by two days. Well, I didn't want to leave there. Delicious breakfasts, comfortable bed, quiet neighborhood.
