Montevideo lies on the shores of the Rio de la Plata . Like the whole country, its capital city is also not great. So you can easily explore Montevideo on foot or by bike. The city may not impress you at first sight, but it's worth giving it a chance. A short visit to the old town - Ciudad Vieja is enough to come to the conclusion that it was worth visiting.

One of the most characteristic buildings is the Palacio Salvo , which is a kind of symbol of the entire city. Montevideo also has excellent walking areas with Parque Rodó, Punta Brava and the Rambla at the forefront. The capital also offers an interesting nightlife offer . In the evenings, numerous pubs open their doors, where you can party with the locals. There are not many tourists in Montevideo, which allows you to feel the atmosphere of the city and the people who live here.

For whom?

Montevideo is definitely a good choice if you like to walk a lot. The city is perfect to explore on foot, and walking along the promenade (Rambla) along the coast will be a pleasure in itself. In Montevideo, partygoers will also surely like to take advantage of the offer of local pubs.

Hotel Palacio

Hotel Palacio is in a class of its own. The beautiful, stylish building houses elegant, nicely arranged interiors. My room was not large, but decorated in such a way that I did not feel cramped. Around you can find numerous pubs, shops and the most important attractions of Montevideo. I recommend!

Smart Hotel Montevideo

During our few days stay in Montevideo, we had the pleasure of staying at the Smart Hotel. This is a very modern facility that offers fully equipped apartments (ours even had a kitchenette). Stylish furniture, bright interiors, perfect order. It was a good base for us to explore the city.

Armon Suites Hotel

This hotel met our expectations. It is located in the Tourville district, which offers a slightly more intimate atmosphere. The hotel boasts four stars. In our opinion, deserved. It is modern and at a high level. There is also an indoor swimming pool. There is nothing to complain about.

ibis Montevideo Rambla

Ibises around the world have a fairly similar standard. The hotel in Montevideo does not deviate from this principle. The appearance, equipment of the rooms and their arrangement are typical for this chain. Nevertheless, the accommodation here was really OK. My room was very spacious and had a pleasant view from the window.
Puerto Mercado Hotel

Puerto Mercado Hotel

Hotel Puerto Mercado is great value for money. The conditions here are really good. Clean, tidy. The service is nice and very customer-friendly. Breakfasts are tasty, plentiful and varied. If I were there again, I would choose this hotel again.
