Paramaribo is one of the most lively capitals of all Guyanese. This one was part of Dutch Guiana, now known as Suriname . There are many colonial buildings typical of the Dutch with characteristic black and white colors in the city. The people of Paramaibo are called "Parbo" and while many are proud to be Surinamese, they dream of traveling to Aruba or the Netherlands. Paramaribo is a city where synagogues, mosques and churches stand side by side. Nobody bothers anyone.
