Puno (3827 m) is a special place on the map of Peru. According to local legends, this is where the Inca culture was born. All thanks to Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, who came out of the waters of Lake Titicaca to usher in a new dynasty. So Puno is steeped in local history, tradition and culture.
