Peruvian Iquitos is a peculiar phenomenon. In addition, with approx. 400 thousand city residents cannot be reached by car ! The only option to reach Iquitos is by water (Amazon) or air (by plane). This bustling city surrounded by a jungle may not impress with its magnificent architecture. While it may not be the most beautiful place in Peru, it does have some advantages.

First of all, it is the largest city in the northern Amazon , which is a good base for exploring it. Rafting on the Amazon as well as trips to the jungle are organized from here. While in the city, it is also worth visiting Pilpintuwasi. This place is run by a foundation that saves wild animals from the hands of illegal traders. Take a look at the Amazon Indigenous Cultural Museum or the Historical Museum , which is located on one of the barges moored to the shore.

For whom?

Iquitos is a great proposition for adventurers. If you are an explorer and you want to take a cruise on the Amazon or go to the jungle, then the city will be a great base.

Doubletree By Hilton Iquitos

Choosing a hotel that is part of the Hilton chain was an absolute hit. A fantastic facility - a class in itself. Swimming pools, amazing architecture and world-class service. The room was huge, stylishly decorated. Of course, it's expensive. But it's 100% worth it.

Hospedaje Neydita

A charming place without pomp. It is theoretically a hostel. In practice, mainly private rooms of a really good standard. Good location, great price (one of the best in the whole city), but above all, a very nice owner. The guy is extremely helpful, warm, the right person in the right place.

Nativo Hotel

I spent a total of three nights at the Nativo Hotel. The facility is highly recommendable, mainly due to the high standard of services. Modern, very well-kept interiors. Rooftop pool offering quite nice views. Well-functioning WiFi throughout the hotel. Cozy room, tastefully decorated.

Hotel Jungle House

I was absolutely enchanted by this hotel. Beautiful, white, bright interiors. Stylish accessories, well-kept plants. There is a swimming pool in the garden. Breakfast included in the price - tasty and varied. I got a room with a view of the garden. Peace and quiet, intimate atmosphere.
Victoria Regia Hotel

Victoria Regia Hotel

The Victoria Regia Hotel is a modern facility. I chose it because of the location (right in the city center). The room met my expectations. First of all, it had great air conditioning. And without it, it would be difficult to sleep comfortably. The hotel also has a swimming pool and a good restaurant.
