Gocta
Autor, Travelbay
Gocta (Catarata Gocta) is not only the highest free-fall waterfall in Peru, but also one of the tallest in the world. It is 771 m high and has only two thresholds. Interestingly, although it is a peculiar phenomenon, it was only discovered by the international community of travelers and researchers in 2002 ! This was done by the German traveler Stefan Ziemendorff.

The waterfall was named after the nearby settlement. Although Gocta is not very rich in water, the huge height from which it falls and the peaks of the Andes around probably will impress everyone. Until recently, getting to the waterfall was quite a challenge. From year to year, along with the growing interest among tourists from all over the world, the route to the waterfall is much more comprehensive, and in its close vicinity there are, for example, hotels and guesthouses.
For whom?
The Gocta waterfall is an exceptionally photogenic place. So if you are looking for beautiful views and wildlife, then a trip to it will be a really good idea.
