Cuzco is one of the most important cities in Peru. Primarily because it was the capital of the Inca Empire . It was founded in the 13th century and for three consecutive centuries it belonged to this people. Later, the city was conquered by the Spaniards who made it their base for further colonization. Fortunately, they didn't destroy everything that Inca culture had created.
