Ballestas
Autor, Travelbay
Islas Ballestas is a Peruvian archipelago of islands located at the height of the cities of Pisco and Paracas, protected within the reserve (Reserva Nacional Islas Ballestas). Quite often you can meet with the mocking and ironic phrase that it is "Galapagos for the poor" or "cheaper and a bit worse version of the Galapagos". It is true that getting to the islands does not cost too much, and the journey from the mainland itself takes literally a moment.

However, in terms of nature, they are really impressive. Islas Ballestas is home to a huge colony of penguins , but also sea lions, cormorants and pelicans. The animals can be observed quite closely (from the deck of the boat). There are so many of them here that you will easily come back from the archipelago with lots of excellent photos.
For whom?
Islas Ballestas is the perfect proposition if you like communing with wild nature . Here you will have many options for this. The archipelago is home to many animals that can be admired in their natural habitat.
