The town of Salento is situated among the lush green hills, relatively close to Bogota and Medelin . Its neighborhood, and more precisely the valley - Valle del Cocora , has been, along with other areas, inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List as a "coffee cultural landscape ". And it is because of it that most tourists come here.

Its beauty is undeniable. But not only this one valley is worth seeing. The town itself also has a nice atmosphere. Around it you will find numerous coffee plantations. So you will be able to see the process of creating this aromatic infusion up close and from the very beginning. The area is perfect for trekking or horseback tours, which are very popular among foreign and local tourists.

For whom?

If you are a coffee lover , a visit to Salento will be a pure pleasure for you. Not only will you be able to drink excellent coffee here, but most of all you will find out how it is made. In Salento, you will also like it when you like to spend time actively. You will find excellent routes for trekking and horse riding.

Hilltop Salento

I highly recommend the Hilltop Hotel. A great place to stay and an ideal place to relax. There is a nice garden with a swimming pool, there is a lot of greenery. A big plus is the beautiful views of the surrounding hills. My room was also okay. Clean, tidy, spacious. Affordable price.
Hotel El Mirador del Cocora

Hotel El Mirador del Cocora

The name of the hotel itself indicates that amazing views await guests here. And that's how it is. The panorama from El Mirador del Cocora is stunning! From the terrace and rooms you can admire the surrounding mountains. This is a slightly more exclusive facility, but the price is still within the reach of the average person. I would like to go back there someday.
Hotel Terasu Salento

Hotel Terasu Salento

An intimate, stylishly furnished guesthouse where we spent a pleasant 3 nights. Overall, it was our longest overnight stay in Colombia and probably the best of all. Service at the highest level. Excellent breakfasts. Beautiful interiors. Reasonable price. Good localization.
Casa La Eliana

Casa La Eliana

Casa La Eliana is a rustic, small guesthouse where you can feel the true Colombian spirit. The conditions are very simple, there are no great amenities here. My room had a shared bathroom. But there were few guests, so I had it all to myself. There was an opportunity to buy lunches, which I took advantage of. And I highly recommend them.
Viajero Hostel Salento

Viajero Hostel Salento

Even though it is a hostel, it has quite a selection of private rooms. Due to the opinions and its location, this is where we decided to stay during our visit to Salento. And we didn't regret it! Great atmosphere, very comfortable beds and breakfast included. The location of the hostel allows you to enjoy beautiful and extensive views.
