Isla Gorgona
Autor, Travelbay
Isla Gorgona is a Colombian island that was infamous for some time. From 1959 to 1984, it operated a maximum security prison where the most dangerous criminals were sent to. Despite this, two prisoners managed to escape from there on a raft. Moments after this event, the prison was dissolved, and the island itself was transformed into a national park (Parque Nacional Natural (PNN) Isla Gorgona).
