Halfway between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro is the small tourist town of Paraty . The colonial climate, mountain surroundings and the emerald color of the ocean make it a picturesque and popular point on the map of Brazil. Paraty has quite a rich history.

Paraty

Paraty, Brazil

It was founded in the 17th century and developed as a Portuguese port from which gold was exported from one of the local mines. Paraty will delight you with beautiful buildings and charming, cobbled streets . You will find it here also numerous pubs serving local delicacies and delicious drinks in the evening. Paraty also offers pleasant beaches and recreational areas.

For whom?

Paraty is a good choice if you would like to spend some time on the Brazilian coast but are looking for a slightly quieter place . Although the town is popular, it is not very crowded. In addition, you will be able to see a bit , take a walk and enjoy the beauty of the city's buildings and views.

Recommended accomodations

Here are the accommodations that we can recommend with a clear conscience. We only recommend hotels that we have visited ourselves.

Che Lagarto Paraty

Even though it is a hostel, it offers really great conditions. The place is not very party-oriented, but you can meet a lot of cool and interesting people from all over the world. We chose a private room, but the shared dorms looked OK too. There is a garden, swimming pool and billiards on site.

Planeta Banana Paraty

We highly recommend the Planeta Banana guesthouse. A fantastic place. First of all, it is located right next to the beach. A well-decorated facility, surrounded by plenty of greenery. Great for chill out. Intimate, without crowds. Perfect for us!

Pouso Atobá

My girlfriend and I chose this guesthouse. We were pleased with the time spent here. Nice surroundings, large garden with a swimming pool. And the beach is literally 3 steps away. The living conditions are also great. Affordable and breakfast included.

Casa da Praia

Casa da Praia is a good choice. Both the town and the guesthouse are worth recommending, especially when it comes to relaxation by the ocean. Nice building, garden, possibility to use the swimming pool. Maybe there are no gigantic luxuries here, but for us it was very comfortable.

Chill Inn Paraty Hostel & Pousada

A place with soul! A great option for a low-budget stay in Paraty. Sure, this is not an all-inclusive place and we would rather recommend it to younger tourists. Close to the center and the beach. Super friendly service. WiFi unfortunately works mediocre. But apart from that, everything is positive.
