In the north of Brazil, Manaus lies on the shores of the Rio Negro. This river connects with the Amazon near the city. Although at first glance you can get the impression that due to its isolation from the rest of the larger urban centers, Manaus will be a somewhat hermetic place, this is nothing further from the truth. The city will surprise you not only with its bustling atmosphere, but also with numerous attractions.

Manaus Brazil, Teatro Amazonas, tourist attractions, reviews

Teatro Amazonas - © Bruno RS

First of all, it is an important economic center for the Amazon area. City life revolves around the port, but also in the historic center . You will find there, among others The Cathedral of Our Lady or one of the most beautiful buildings in Manaus, namely the Teatro Amazonas . In addition, there are many museums in the city that tell the history of the Amazon area. A visit to the city can also be a great opportunity to go deep into the rainforest.

For whom?

Visit Manaus if you are looking for a nice base into the Amazon. It is also a great place if you would like to know the history of this part of Brazil. It will also appeal to fans of wild nature and beautiful views. There are plenty of those in Manaus!

Here are the accommodations that we can recommend with a clear conscience. We only recommend hotels that we have visited ourselves.

Tropical Executive Hotel

During our visit to Manaus we stayed at this hotel. Mainly because we had seen photos from there before and were delighted with its location. By the river, by the beach, surrounded by nature. The room itself is huge and pleasantly decorated. And this Instagrammable swimming pool overlooking the river. That's cool!

Comfort Hotel Manaus

We chose the Comfort Hotel in Manaus and it was indeed... comfortable. It is a medium-sized facility, offering very good value for money. The service was very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is also very convenient - on the outskirts, but relatively close to the city center.
Casa Perpetua Hotel D Charm

Casa Perpetua Hotel D Charm

Right in the city center and a charming, elegant tenement house. Staying there was a pleasure in itself. Also because of the intimate atmosphere, but above all, the proximity of monuments and restaurants. A good starting point for exploring Manaus. The price is also very affordable.
Intercity Manaus

Intercity Manaus

Very decent hotel. We were extremely pleased with our choice. What we liked most was the rooftop pool. And from there there are truly epic views. The room, of course, also met our expectations. Comfortable bed, clean, everything well-kept.
Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge

Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge

We recommend this place to those who prefer to enjoy the beauty of nature instead of staying in the city. Jungle Lodge is located in an Amazonian reserve, by a river, among extremely lush vegetation. At the same time, it is modern, extremely comfortable, but also... very, very expensive.
